ROMP single-day tickets on sale

From the good folks over at ROMP fest set for June 26-29 in Owensboro, Kentucky:
“We’re thrilled to release the daily lineup!  Single day tickets are on sale now, and discounted prices last until Sunday night.
“Headliners Trampled by Turtles, Rhonda Vincent & The Rage, and Billy Strings kick off the main stage Thursday night, followed by The Del McCoury Band, The Wood Brothers, and The Jeff Austin Band and The Travelin’ McCourys perform the Grateful Ball on Friday.  The party rolls into Saturday with Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder with special guest Patty Loveless, Sam Bush, and Steve Earle & The Dukes and many more.
“The Jagoe Homes After Party Stage gets started Wednesday night with the Glade City Rounders and Relic.  The Rumpke Mountain Boys and Wood & Wire follow up on Thursday night, with Horseshoes & Hand Grenades and Songs from the Road Band rocking the After Party stage on Friday, and Dustbowl Revival closes out ROMP Festival on Saturday night.

Women of bluegrass dominate nominations for International Bluegrass Music Awards in Raleigh, N.C, on Sept. 27

After Molly Tuttle’s impressive win at the 2017 International Bluegrass Music (IBMA) Awards as the first female IBMA guitarist, Becky Buller leads the field for the  2018 International Bluegrass Music Awards with eight nominations followed by Tuttle’s six. Close behind with five nominations each are Special Consensus, and The Del McCoury Band/The Travelin’ McCourys, with strong showings by Rhonda Vincent, The Earls of Leicester, Balsam Range, and Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver. Results of the balloting will be revealed at the International Bluegrass Music Awards on Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Duke Energy Performing Arts Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Blue Ridge Music Center presents Old Crow Medicine Show, Mipso and Amythyst Kiah on Sunday, Aug. 27

Known for its ability to draw amazing Americana artists including the Steep Canyon Rangers, Ricky Skaggs, Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas, The Steel Wheels, Marty Raybon and The Lee Boys, the Blue Ridge Music Center has outdone itself by offering one of its most impressive lineups to date on Sunday, Aug. 27, as part of its annual outdoor summer music series.
Old Crow Medicine Show, Mipso and Amythyst Kiah are set to play beginning at 4:30 p.m. at the Center, which is located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway at Milepost 213 nestled between the southwest Virginia towns of Galax and Fancy Gap. Tickets are $38 for adults and $22 for children.

Ricky Skaggs and Sammy Shelor join Alison Krauss, Jerry Douglas and The Whites at Blue Ridge Music Center for ‘A Show for Joe’ on Friday, Sept. 2, in honor of the late Joe Wilson

“A Show for Joe is almost here and we have an exciting update! Ricky Skaggs, multiple Grammy Award winner and recipient of the 2015 Americana Music Association Lifetime Achievement Award for an Instrumentalist (mandolin), and Sammy Shelor, who has earned the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo and Bluegrass and multiple IBMA awards, have joined the musical lineup for this special one-day festival. The concert features performances by Jerry Douglas, The Whites, and special guest Alison Krauss, as well as musical tributes from Wayne Henderson & Friends, The Jeff Little Trio, Linda & David Lay, Elizabeth LaPrelle, Phil Wiggins, The Barr Family & Jimmy Edmonds, and Frank Newsome.
