Annabelle’s Curse is one of the best bands you probably haven’t heard. I am happy to predict that’s about to change with the release of the Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia-based alt-folk band’s newest album, “Beyond the Station.”
Following is an exclusive release of the band’s newest video featuring, “Doubt,” one of the tracks on the new album. It features the band’s genre-defying signature ethereal sound that is hard to capture in words but oh-so-enjoyable to listen to.
The following video is just one of three in a series entitled, “Live from the Typewriter Sessions – Bristol, Tennessee,” that will be released over the next month or so, according to band co-founder Zack Edwards.
Despite the title, I have no doubt this video and album are going to result in myriad new fans of this band that already has a strong following. The band came in second as the FloydFest fan favorite in the “On the Rise” contest in 2014 and have become fixtures at the Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion and Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival. The band has also played Rhythm and Blooms, HoustonFest and Hillfest as well as appeared on Music City Roots . They’ve performed at Gypsy Sally’s in Washington, D.C., The Camel and Tin Pan in Richmond, Evening Muse in Charlotte and The Garage in Winston-Salem. Annabelle’s Curse has opened for Anderson East, The Black Lillies, The Hackensaw Boys, HoneyHoney and Humming House, among others.
The sound was mixed by Travis Kammeyer and mastered by Dylan Seals and the video shot by David Gwaltney and Gabe Hobbs.
The band is made up of Edwards (electric guitar, vocals), Tim Kilborne (vocals, banjo, guitar), Carly Booher Edwards (vocals and mandolin), Travis Goyette (drums) and Tyler Luttrell (bass).
You can find the band playing live in the following venues on the following upcoming dates in support of the new album. I hope you will take the time to check them out in person. In the meantime, if you like what you hear, please share this video on social media to help this talented group of artists get their music out to new sets of ears and hopefully the recognition they deserve.
