Carolina Roots MusicFest celebrates second annual event with The Black Lillies, Time Sawyer on May 19-20 in Statesville

Carolina Roots MusicFest is a two-day celebration of diverse music styles performed by outstanding national, regional and local performers including The Black Lillies, The Waydown Wanderers, Forlorn Strangers, The Ragbirds, Time Sawyer, Josh Daniel / Mark Schimick Project, Amigos, Cordovas, The Broad Pickups and Coddle Creek.

Carolina Roots MusicFest, held at the Statesville Regional Airport, debuted in 2016 to celebrate diverse music styles performed by nationally known, regional and local artists in a benefit for National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc., which in turn supports local nonprofit groups. Food trucks and wine and craft beer vendors will also be onsite.

The festival is held from 5 to 10:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at 260 Hangar Drive near Statesville Regional Airport, home of Carolina BalloonFest in Statesville, North Carolina.

Two-day pass: early bird $25 through February; $35 advance, $40 at gate.
Friday: $10 advance; $15 at gate.
Saturday: $25 advance; $30 at gate.
Hops Garden Tasting available March 1: $20.
Rhythm Lounge (two-day pass, premium parking, premium seating, hospitality tent, food and drinks, wine and beer, etc.): $125.
Younger than 13 free.

Complement your Saturday afternoon of amazing music with award-winning handcrafted beers offered by six North Carolina craft breweries, including

  • Ghostface Brewing, Mooresville
  • Bayne Brewing Company, Cornelius
  • D9 Brewing Company, Cornelius
  • Olde Hickory Brewery, Hickory

Camping: Tents $25 (one vehicle), RVs $40; extra vehicles $20. Website says: “NO Drive-up campsites available to purchase.”

Carolina Roots MusicFest is organized by National Balloon Rally Charities, Inc., an incorporated 501(c)(3) organization and all contributions are tax deductible. A portion of proceeds raised through our annual music festival is distributed to local nonprofit organizations.
