Victor Wainwright & The WildRoots will perform with Left Hip Pocket on Friday, July 15, at Pop’s Farm (home of Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival), 675 Hobson Road, Martinsville, Virginia, at an outdoor show presented by Memorial Hospital and The Rives Theatre. Tickets are $15 ($20 at gate) and are available at Woodall’s Music and Sound, Daily Grind Coffee House & Cafe – Martinsville and online. Music starts at 8 p.m.

“This will be one of the most entertaining shows of the year,” writes Bob Phillips on The Rives Theatre Facebook page. “It is an absolutely must see event.”

Serendipity Metro Deli & Coffee House will have a food truck set up at the concern and there will be  Oscar Blues Brewery beer on tap. Camping is not available, however, according to organizers so make sure you plan accordingly.

According to his website, composer, producer, vocalist, entertainer and award-winning piano player, Victor Wainwright is a raucous high-octane, dynamic performer and crowd pleaser with soul to spare. Accolades include the 2016 Blues Music Award Winner, BB King Entertainer of the Year, Band of the Year, 2015 Boom Town Billboard Top 10 and 2013 and 2014 BMA Piano Player of the Year.

Though his career began over a decade ago with genuine rock n’ roll honky-tonk, Wainwright has broadened his artistic scope over the years to include music representing virtually every corner of the blues. His insatiable interest in music discovery, sheer love for entertaining and curiosity have led him all around the world, and the resulting perspective is a reflection of his passion for entertaining and creating progressive roots music in an effort to move the art form forward.

Rooster Walk fans know Left Hip Pocket was formed in Martinsville and according to their Bandcamp bio, the band  will make your ears smile. “Riggs Roberson, Austin Janey, Griffin Haley, Camry Harris and Wenn Harold blend their wildly varied backgrounds and influences into something far greater than the sum of its parts. Between their unique spin on jazz, rock, and blues and their striking original tracks, Left Hip Pocket is sure to leave you wanting more.”
