Tickets on sale for first Brewster Walk featuring in Martinsville, Va., set for Oct. 10

Brewster Walk, a craft beer festival featuring live music is set for Saturday, Oct. 10, on East Church Street in front of the historic Rives Theatre in Uptown Martinsville,Virginia.

Brewster Walk will feature Parkway Brewery, among more than a dozen craft breweries, each of which will have multiple beers on tap at the festival, and musical performances from The Chris Duarte Group, Wild Ponies and Junto

“As our featured partner, Parkway will be pouring eight different amazing beers at Brewster Walk: Get Bent Mountain IPA, Grapefruit Get Bent IPA, Bridge Builder Blonde (Belgian-style ale), Ravens Roost Baltic porter, Majestic Mullet Krispy Kolsch, Seeing Colors Spiced Autumn Ale, Factory Girl session IPA and the Four Damn Fights to a Pint double IPA,” says Johnny Buck, executive director and co-founder of Rooster Walk Music and Arts Festival, which is sponsoring Brewster Walk. “In addition to Parkway’s great beers, we’ll also have more than 40 other varieties from more than a dozen different craft breweries.”

“This first-time event will be capped at 600 attendees, and it’s expected to sell out in advance,” Buck says. “Our goal is to help promote the businesses and attractions of Uptown Martinsville while enjoying a variety of great beers, music and food with family and friends. We hope to raise a total of $7,500 for two local charities off this one-day event: the Penn-Shank Memorial Scholarship Fund at Martinsville High School, and our new band instrument donation and repair program for entry-level band students in the city and county school systems.”

General Admission tickets are $25 and VIP tickets are $45.They can be purchased online AT THIS LINK, or locally from the Daily Grind Coffee House & Cafe in Uptown Martinsville.

According to Buck, GA tickets include a commemorative Brewster Walk sampling glass, 15 3-oz.samples of beer, admission to the event beginning at 2 p.m. and all three concerts.

“We’re only selling 100 VIP tickets to Brewster Walk,” he added. “Gates will open one hour early for VIPs (1 p.m.). VIP ticket holders also get the commemorative glass, 25 samples of delicious beer and access to the Rives Theatre (our VIP Hospitality Area).”

Parkway Brewing Company, open since the Winter of 2013, is bringing a variety of extraordinary and complex beers to Southwestern Virginia’s craft beer lovers, according to Buck. “Celebrating our region’s places and characters, songs and scenes, they strive to offer Southwest Virginians a family of beers worthy of the region’s rich history and special place on the map,” he says.

Their brewery, located at 739 Kessler Mill Road in Salem, Virginia, is open to the public on Thursdays and Fridays from 4-8 p.m., on Saturdays from 3-8 p.m. and on Sundays from 2-6 p.m.
