BOONE, N.C. — What do Little Big Town, Michael McDonald, Matthew Morrison, Nickel Creek and Sheryl Crow have in common? They are all performing as part of this year’s Appalachian Summer Festival. which kicks off this weekend and runs through July 26.
The festival has been presented annually for 30 years by Appalachian State University’s Office of Arts and Cultural Programs. What began as a small chamber music series founded by Arnold and Muriel Rosen has grown into multi-disciplinary art festival, which is among the Southeast Tourism Society’s “Top 20 Events in the Southeast” and was recently featured in The New York Times.
